P4081 TEMPORARY DISABILITY

BOARD POLICY:

Employees who are temporarily totally disabled may charge their absence to their accumulation of temporary leave days.

Administrative Implemental Procedures:

1.      Temporary total disability resulting from maternity shall be administered in the same manner as temporary total disability for any other reason. However, a female employee may not charge absences to accumulated temporary leave days for a disability resulting from her agreement to be a surrogate mother.

2.      Any employee who is temporarily disabled may be required to furnish professional verification of temporary disability for his/her anticipated or continued absence from his/her duty assignment.

3.      Any employee returning from temporary leave due to medical disability may be required to furnish professional verification of health before being allowed to resume the responsibilities of his/her duty assignment.

4.      The necessity for such professional verification shall be at the discretion of the administration.
