P1303 UNAUTHORIZED DEMONSTRATIONS
BOARD POLICY:
In the event of certain emergency situations involving action or inaction by large groups of people, the chief concerns of the principal are to maintain peace and order and to carry on the usual operation of the school.
Administrative Implemental Procedures:
1. The principal should make an estimate of the situation and attempt to resolve the problem quickly and quietly.
2. The principal should notify the proper authorities.
a. The Superintendent of Schools will be notified immediately by the principal of a building involved in any demonstration that will affect the operation of that building.
b. The school district Security Supervisor and police will be notified as necessary to prevent violence or when some city ordinance or state statute is being violated.
