P1228 FULL-TIME PUPILS

BOARD POLICY:

Programs for full-time pupils will be developed in each building. Principals are authorized to require the attendance of all pupils for the complete school day or any fraction thereof.

Administrative Implemental Procedures:

1.      Principals will continue to encourage full-time attendance of all pupils but requests for pass cards will be considered on an individual basis.

2.      Several supervised activities such as supervised work programs, tutorial experiences, community service, college experience, study hall, and programs of independent study will count toward meeting the seven-period minimum requirement.

3.      Teachers may be assigned as supervisors of a special activity as a part of their regular assignment. Counselors, assistant principals, and department chairs may also serve.

4.      The program of supervised activities must be educationally sound. Credit may or may not be earned.
